Lotus first played Nelson Ledges in mid summer of 2007 at a festival headlined by Ekoostik Hookah called "Summer Hookah Weekend." However, last year after the owner of Nelson Ledges started a festival called Summer Dance (which some argue was created to compete with a festival called Grateful Garcia Gathering, which had recently just moved locations to Legend Valley in Ohio.) and booked EOTO to headline the first night and Lotus to headline the other. Many Lotus fans dubbed this festival as "The Lotus Family Gathering." This caught on with not only the owner of the park but the band as well. If you listen to last years recording you can actually hear them call it "The first Lotus Dance." With Lotus obviously being the big demand by the festival goers that weekend, everyone began to ask if Lotus was going to play both nights this coming year?

As of today that question has finally been answered. Today brought the official announcement of Summer Dance II from August 28th to 30th, and with it came info that Lotus would be headlining both nights. While we are still waiting for which other artists will be booked for the festival, one thing is certain. That is, if Summer Dance is anything like last years then you can expect that it could arguably be one of the best weekends of the summer and hopefully expect to see it become an annual gathering. If you missed it last year, definitely make an effort to make up for that mistake this year.
For those of you who have never been to Nelson Ledges before, one thing I can tell you is that the place brings magic within its self with out any live music needed. The place allows camping any time and features camping in the woods with your cars, Stages right on the beach where you can dig your toes right into the sand, a quarry to swim in with cliffs to jump off of and an Island that is in a swim able distance. You can also except that almost any festival held there will only cost you around $50 for the entire weekend.
Here is some eye candy of the park for you all.
